ARE YOU READY TO GO ROME IN A MINUTE?

Hello everybody,

For my last task in Current Issues in Teaching course, my friends Almina, Beyza, Nilüfer, and I embarked on an exciting project: creating an AR/VR-based worksheet for A2-level English students to explore Rome. We wanted to make learning about this historical city both engaging and interactive.

If you want to see our worksheet you can click on the flag  🇮🇹.

Our worksheet included a variety of activities:

 * Exploring the Colosseum: Students would use 360-degree videos to virtually explore the Colosseum, answering questions like "When was it built?".
 * Discovering the Leaning Tower of Pisa: Students would use AR/VR to "walk" around the tower, learn about its history, and answer questions about its unique architecture.
 * Touring the Capitoline Museum: Students would take a virtual tour of the museum, identifying different types of art and answering questions about their favorite pieces.
 * Learning about Lasagna: Students would watch a video about the preparation of this iconic Italian dish and answer questions about its ingredients and origins.
Finally, the worksheet culminated in a creative writing activity. Students would imagine they were writing a letter to a friend planning to visit Rome, suggesting places to visit and giving tips on what to see and do.
We aimed to create a worksheet that would not only teach students about Rome but also enhance their English language skills. By using interactive AR/VR technology, we hoped to make learning fun and engaging for A2-level students.
This task was a valuable experience for me. I learned about the potential of AR/VR in education and how to create engaging and interactive learning materials for language learners.
Finally, I want to add one last thing to this post: While searching for this task, I also learned that my birthday is the same day as National Lasagna Day 🎉🎉. You may wonder why it is important for me. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT LASAGNA IS THE BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD…  Here’s the picture of world's best food.

Also here is the ASSURE lesson plan that we prepared. ➡️
Take care till my next task, and also if you haven't tried lasagna yet, please try it immediately.🩷
