21ST CENTURY SKILLS AND LANGUAGE EDUCATION

Hello everyone !

The world is evolving, and the way we learn things is too. In this century, just memorizing the facts isn't enough for learning -especially in language learning-. For example, we can't speak just by memorizing the words in a foreign language. That's why we should use the 21st century skills 4Cs: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.

Critical thinking is about questioning, analyzing, and making smart decisions. It is like  being a detective.  For example with the help of critical thinking, we can analyze the grammar rules and solve problems easily.

Creativity is the ability to think the outside of the box, and it brakes us free from the conventional patterns. In order to be able to handle with the challanges creativity is one of the most imporant skills to have in this century.

Collaboration simply means that working together with other people to achieve a goal, and in an interconnected world, the ability to collaborate is precious. By collaborating, we can accomplish more than we could alone.

Effective communication means both expressing ideas clearly and listening to other people carefully. While learning a language, with the help of technolgy we can communicate with native people effectively by using social platforms or even we can use artificial intelligence(ai) to practice a languge and it would help us a lot.

Those four skills that I mentioned above are crucial for learning and also, I believe that if we use them in the classroom by integrating technology into it,it would enhance to our students' learning process.
